French Fine Wines Trio

Ulysse Cazabonne Pauillac 2020
This wine is from Pauillac, France, and is a Bordeaux Blend Red, led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. A beautiful dark, intense colour with a brooding note of ripe blackcurrant and hints of cedar and liquorice. A full, robust palate with good fruit depth and a firm but fresh finish. Refined and classy, with a characteristic Pauillac grip. It pairs well with beef and venison.
Lirac Blanc La Fermade, Domaine Maby 2023
Richard and Natasha Maby have a wonderfully well-placed domaine between the Rhone and Costieres, which makes excellent wine. Composed of Grenache, Clairette and Picpoul, matured in vats, the wine offers beautiful aromas of fruit, citrus and white flowers, with a
finely balanced palate. This wine is full-flavoured, yet crisp and refreshing. An ideal pairing with shellfish or a chicken risotto. Aging potential 4 to 8 years
Maison Bichel Margaux, Grand Vins de Bordeaux, 2023
From a small parcel of stunning, declassified Margaux this wine is produced by one of the finest 2 nd Growth Chateaux. A fine claret that is approachable already with a good 10 years ahead of it. Made with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it’s a deep garnet with aromas of rich red fruit. Lovely flavours – early hints of redcurrants give way to blackcurrants and blackberries, all soft, juicy and smooth, with a hint of spice. “This is a class act and can only get classier as it matures” – Jonathan Ray, The Spectator Magazine (tasted September 2025)
